Pinedale Airport Project Updates

The new Airport reopening date is Monday, September 20, 2021. Surfaces to be paved have been milled to remove old asphalt and will be paved as soon as the paver arrives on site. It was also discovered that there was insufficient base on the blast pad at the end of Runway 29 that will need to be repaired. HK Contractors, Inc. will do a paving test strip on Monday, August 30. If the test strip passes, they will begin paving the runway.

Sometime later in September the runway grooving will take place and the final coat of paint put down on the markings. The runway grooving will happen at night so that the runway can remain open during the day. Painting will close the runway for shorter periods of time.

The painting contractor will be out in the next couple of weeks to put the final coat of marking paint on the apron and taxiways. This is part of the crack sealing and seal coating project funded by WYDOT.

The new apron project is running two weeks behind schedule but is expected to be completed by the first part of October.

Currently the runway, taxiway and ODAL lighting is inoperative, but we expect them to be working when the runway reopens.
