Crews are working to complete the water main installation on South Shanley Avenue, including pressure testing, chlorination, flushing, and bacteria testing. The goal is to finalize testing and activate the main segment, followed by the installation of water service lines to the four (4) residences on South Shanley Avenue. A second crew is continuing with water main installation along Quartz Avenue; however, progress is being hindered by significant volumes of ground water.

Week of May 26, 2025

There will be no construction activities on Memorial Day.

Crew #1 is scheduled to complete water service connections on South Shanley Avenue. One lane of traffic will remain accessible during this work.

Crew #2 will continue installing the water main along Quartz Avenue, aiming to reach Jade Street by the end of the week. If progress proceeds as planned, a temporary water main shutdown will be required to connect to the east transmission line. This shutdown will affect water service for all residents on Quartz Avenue and Jade Street.

Town staff will provide advance notice of the shutdown. Residents should expect a temporary loss of water service followed by a minimum 24-hour boil water advisory, in accordance with EPA testing requirements to ensure water safety. Notifications will be delivered to homes (please check your doors if you are away during the day), and additional notices will be provided once testing is complete and the water is confirmed safe to consume.
